My story so far…

Helloooo my name is Apricot

I came into the sanctuary a few months ago now along with three other cats I previously lived with (Asher, Sammy and Saffron). We were rescued from a multi cat household as our owner had some mental health problems and required help. None of us were neutered and so this resulted in more breeding. There was 19 of us in total including some young kittens that sadly passed away. They had bad cat flu suspected to be feline herpes virus. We was all rescued by a boarding facility and dog rescue helping the council by taking us in. They got us all neutered and vaccinated and then found cat rescue help for the four of us here at the sanctuary.

I am a very sweet girl and absolutely adore human company. I just love my cuddles and I am known to be a little fuss pot. I will often chose attention over freedom out of my pen any day! I am happy to be picked up and cuddled and enjoy sitting on a comfy lap too! Although I have a very sweet nature, I have shown I can get over excited and give little love nips which can be a bit unexpected. I dont mean to hurt anyone but I just feel happy when I am being loved and get a bit overstimulated with it. Aside from this I am a very gentle girl!

I am only young and I love to play! I love picking up my toys in my mouth and walking off with them and sometimes even drowning them in my water bowl! I can keep myself entertained with toys but I also love when the humans play with me too!

Due to living in a multi cat home with the poorly kittens it is possible that I am a carrier of the feline herpes virus (common cat flu) however I have not shown any symptoms of this and I am otherwise a healthy young girl with no current health concerns.

Home I am looking for…

My ideal home would be a home with people around a lot!

I could live with sensible older children 8+ as long as they have confidence around cats. Of course children must be taught to be respectful and gentle around animals. My new humans must have plenty of time for me. There are other cats looking for homes that would be much happier being left daily than I would be.

I would rather not live with another cat. I was not too happy around the other cats I came in with and I would just tell them off a lot because I like my own space. i just want the humans all to myself! Since I was moved to be in a pen on my own I came out my shell more and became a much happier girl.

I can live with a slightly older cat friendly dog that will respect my space. I am not too phased by dogs. I wouldnt like a lively young dog though!

I have always been an indoor cat and would be fine living as a indoor cat in my new home as long as I have enough space in a home. I must also have lots of human attention and enrichment such as toys and cat furniture to keep me occupied. I could also be homed to be allowed safe outdoor access too. If so I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety. I would also need to be kept indoors for at least 8 weeks before being allowed outdoors to allow me time to settle and bond with my new humans.

I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety.

Home and Road/environmental checks apply.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
