My story so far…

Helloooo my name is Saffron

I came into the sanctuary a few months ago now along with three other cats I previously lived with (Asher, Sammy and Apricot). We were rescued from a multi cat household as our owner had some mental health problems and required help. None of us were neutered and so this resulted in more breeding. There was 19 of us in total including some young kittens that sadly passed away. They had bad cat flu suspected to be feline herpes virus. We was all rescued by a boarding facility and dog rescue helping the council by taking us in. They got us all neutered and vaccinated and then found cat rescue help for the four of us here at the sanctuary.

I was very nervous when I first arrived at the sanctuary. I was quite flinchy and wary. In my previous home I was not used to being around many people and was isolated. We all went through some trauma which affected me. Over the past few months I have settled more and grown in so much confidence. I am a much happier girl now. I enjoy being around more people and enjoy some gentle fusses. I often rub around my carers legs. I am also very playful and enjoy batting my toys about. I have a cute habit of walking around with a toy in my mouth chirping. I can keep myself entertained with toys but I also love when the humans play with me too!

Due to living in a multi cat home with the poorly kittens it is possible that I am a carrier of the feline herpes virus (common cat flu) however I have not shown any symptoms of this and I am otherwise a healthy young girl with no current health concerns.

Home I am looking for…

I do need a quiet and calm adult only home where I can feel comfortable and allow me to come out of my shell more.

I would rather not live with another cat. I was not too happy around the other cats I came in with and I would just tell them off a lot because I like my own space. i just want the humans all to myself! Since I was moved to be in a pen on my own I came out my shell more and became a much happier girl.

I can live with a slightly older cat friendly dog that will respect my space. I am not too phased by dogs. I wouldnt like a lively young dog though!

I have always been an indoor cat and would be more suited living as a indoor cat in my new home due to my wary nature as long as I have enough space in a home. I must also have enough human company and enrichment such as toys and cat furniture to keep me occupied. I could alternatively be homed to be allowed safe outdoor access. If so I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety. I would also need to be kept indoors for at least 8 weeks before being allowed outdoors to allow me time to settle and bond with my new humans.

I will need my new home to be well away from any main/busy roads and railway lines for my own safety. Please expect to not hear back if you do live on or near a busy road.

Home and Road/environmental checks apply.

If you think you could offer me the home I need, please fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. Please make sure you have read about all of my needs and our adoption policies before applying.

Forms lacking in detail or with questions unanswered may not be considered, we need to ensure we are matching our cats to the right home for them.
